Diplomatic Ball - The Spice Route

The annual EEC Diplomatic Ball was hosted this year by Israel, Morocco, Egypt, Turkey, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Israel's contributions:

• entertainment script (by Erin) about the Spice Route
• color guard (Jewish War Veterans)
• singing of the Star-Spangled Banner (Erin)
• Tikvah performed (with other host countries)
  
• coordinating dinner menu (Deb)
  

The attendance was excellent, and evening was enjoyed by all.

Flower, Lawn & Garden Show

Deb participated in the EEC Commissioners' welcome at the awards presentation, and then told Jewish/Israeli stories ("Cottage of Candles", Chelm).

Outreach at Harmony Middle School

Deb and Laurie provided outreach to two 8th grade art classes at Harmony Middle School (Blue Valley School District). They showed a tourism video, taught two Isreali dances, and read a Chelm story. The students were provided with an Isreali flag, an Israeli flag temporary tattoo, and an information booklet.

Veterans' Day Observance at Liberty Memorial

Deb is holding the Israeli flag and shaking hands with Carl DiCapo. This year's event was held inside the Liberty Memorial museum facility.

American Royal Parade - 26 Sept 2009

Deb represented Israel in native dress on the Ethnic Enrichment Commission float (unfortunately, on the other side).
