Renaissance Festival

Deb, Erin and Madison were at the Renaissance Festival as part of the Ethnic Enrichment Commission's presence. It was dry and breezy, which played havoc with our antique maps, but we prevailed. We sold dried fruit, dreidels, and Dead Sea skin care products. We shared a table with Indonesia.

2010 Ethnic Enrichment Festival (8/20-22/10)

It was hot, but we were there. It was so hot and humid that our passport stamp self-destructed! The Tikvah Dancers performed on Sunday, 8/22/10; Jeanne represented Israel in the fashion show; Deb read Jewish and Israeli stories in the kids' tent; Jeanne & Mary presented the Israeli flag in the parade of flags; Sue Ellen sold jewelry from Israel; and we sold a lot of felafel, hummus and lemonade. Thanks to ALL our wonderful volunteers.

Kansas City Museum

Deb, Sue Ellen, Jeanne, Deb and Larry provided a focused educational experience on Israel with 15 middle school-age kids at the Kansas City Museum (Corinthian Hall). The kids saw a short tourism video, did some map work with Deb, learned some Israeli dances with Sue Ellen, heard a story read by Deb, learned to sing "HaTikvah" with Jeanne, had a snack of hummus, pita and Nutella, learned to play dreidel, and were given Israeli flags.
